Adult player here. Most certainly an older player. Not gonna say how old though; its just a number anyway. Let's just say old enough.
I picked up SSO on a whim after leaving one job, studying for a certification to get a new job, and seeking that new job. I had decided I needed a quiet game and well, I love racing games and always wanted one involving horses. SSO had it all.
So no embarrassment needed. We welcome all players here, no matter how many times they've orbited the sun.

Yes indeed, plenty of older players enjoy SSO. I'm 33, with two little ones who are constantly into mischief, so I wanted a game outside of my usual MMORPGs that doesn't require me to find a 'safe' place to stand if I need to rush away in a hurry. And while I rarely get to play during the day because of said crumb munchers, it is still a great way to relax and chill out after they've gone to bed. And as an added bonus, its great that SSO has its own unique quest and stories as well.
“Do you give the horse its strength or clothe its neck with a flowing mane? Do you make it leap like a locust, striking terror with its proud snorting? It paws fiercely, rejoicing in its strength, and charges into the fray. It laughs at fear, afraid of nothing; it does not shy away from the sword. In frenzied excitement it eats up the ground; it cannot stand still when the trumpet sounds." Job 39:19-24

We're also over 20, not that much over, but still over 20.
And we kinda have a feeling that you enjoy the game more if you are older. Especially the part where you have to repeat the dailies to get reputation, the younger ones would get bored more easily and leave, while we (the older ones) just work through the dailies. But that's just what we think.
We're actually not twins. Just in the game...

Hi, I'm over 20 (by quite a way) and have found a reasonable amount of adults play. I initially started playing it due to coming down with an illness and needing something to do that doesn't require thinking.

Hi! I'm 22. I play horse riding related games since I was a kid so when I found SSO I immediately fell in love. I can't ride or own a horse irl so collecting and riding virtual horses seems like a nice (and cheaper) substitute ^^
Regina Darkcastle: Yes I was the same way. I saw photos of it and I was like "meh it's okay" but then I saw it in game and I was like "I NEED THIS HORSE"!

Willow Deerblanket: Mm, my boyfriend's favorite horse breed is a Belgian Draft, so when I showed him the new Clydes (because God knows I can never decide by myself); I knew he would pick the familiar one. Named her Autumnbird, hehe.

Autumn Lionsong: I think the time on my server is messed up.. it should be 2:30 but it's 6:30 lol
Feb 21, 2019 5:27:24 GMT 10
Willow Deerblanket: Yeah, I was wondering why it was lookin' like evening.
Feb 21, 2019 6:00:14 GMT 10
Autumn Lionsong: yo ruby I think I found you in game
Feb 21, 2019 6:11:57 GMT 10
Lisadreamchild: I thought it was dark because of the storm in Epona this morning..That would be very consistent, wouldn't it?..but it's probably not the case since the clock in Silverglade says its 9pm and it is only 4. is it on every server, or just Frost Valley?

Emily Archberg: how do you spot the spiders? I've been riding around for a while now and haven't seen any
Feb 22, 2019 5:27:59 GMT 10
Emily Archberg: I did already do the quest with the prof ofc
Feb 22, 2019 5:28:26 GMT 10
Dani Darklord: You gotta look in areas theyd be or run all over the place and then listen after the sounds they make. Hayden lets you hear the sounds if you ask him where to find them + he lets you know their typical environment so that you know
Feb 22, 2019 5:36:50 GMT 10
Emily Archberg: Oh ok thanks Dani! Should have listened to him first
Feb 22, 2019 5:39:56 GMT 10
rubyskywalker: No longer night for me when I was online... I was happy to not have to search for spiders in the dark.

This weeks update!
Valentine’s Day AND New Horses! February 13, 2019
Hi StarFam! Our Soul Riders need some more time before it’s time for the last part of the quest where we’re trying to save Anne from Pandoria. Meanwhile the citizens of Jorvik are decorating and preparing for the first holiday of 2019 - Valentine’s Day!
We’re celebrating love and friendship for one entire Valentine’s week, so make sure to check out this year’s celebration while you can - but of course, the horses arriving to Jorvik today are here to stay!
Derek’s lost letters! Being a mailman on Jorvik isn’t easy because somehow your letters always tend to disappear! Derek at the Silverglade post office is in desperate need of your help, so hurry over there and save his day!
This quest chain has been slightly updated this year, so even those of you who’ve played these quests before will have some new experiences this time!
Lowe’s races! At the Jorvik Stables you’ll find Lowe Westberg who’s in charge of a fun group race which will lead you through all of Jarlaheim! If you enter a group with one to four other players you can participate in Lowe’s race and win tiny hearts, which you can trade in for some pretty rewards. Gather your friends and start racing!
After entering Lowe’s race once, you’ll unlock her speedy show jumping race down at the Jorvik Stables Arena! You can enter this race even if you aren’t in a group with other players and here you can collect even more hearts to trade with.
Valentine’s Day Stores All around Jorvik, little stores have popped up, filled with beautiful clothes that are just perfect for Valentine’s! At the Moorland Stables you’ll also find a store that sells cute teddy bears to go in your saddle bag. Make sure you visit the stores to check out all the items from previous years!
A hidden redeem code! Lowe has hidden five letters around Jorvik that together make up a redeem code! If you find all of them and manage to put together the redeem code you’ll get 200 Star Coins! Gather your friends and get going to find the code!
Do you have a friend you want to play Star Stable with on Valentine’s Day? If your friend just started playing Star Stable and isn’t a Star Rider*, yet, the redeem code VALENTINE7 can be used for 7 days of FREE Star Rider!
*This code is not available to players who have been free or paid Star Rider previously, except those players who received 3 days of Free Star Rider during their sign up.
How do I redeem a code?
★ Log onto your account on StarStable.com
★ Click on the tab “Redeem a code”
★ Type in your redeem code
New horses - Jorvik Warmbloods! Jorvik’s very own sport horse might have already caught your eye - your very first horse is actually one! Lately more and more equestrians have been trying to get more Jorvik Warmbloods to their stables, so now we’re able to offer you some gorgeous, exclusive horses to purchase on Jorvik!
Jorvik Warmbloods are known as kind and loyal competition horses, and they are bred in all colors you can imagine. Will any of these horses be your new friend on the race tracks of Jorvik?
★ What's the new breed? The Jorvik Warmblood.
★ Where can I get it? The blanket buckskin is in Fort Pinta, the palomino blanket pinto is in Crescent Moon Village, and in Dundull you’ll find the liver chestnut and the blue roan.
★ How much does it cost? 750 Star Coins.
★ What level do I have to be? You can get the blanket buckskin right when you get to Fort Pinta but to get the other three horses you must have reached at least level 15.
★ Can I replace my Starter horse with one of these horses? Your Starter horse is important for several quests in Star Stable, which is why it cannot be replaced with any other horse. While these horses belong to the same breed as your Starter horse, you will still need your very first horse in order to, for example, travel to Pandoria.
New map icons! Never again will you have to try to remember where to find a horse trailer in Jorvik - from now on you’ll be able to see them on your map!
When you open up your map (by pressing the “M” key or clicking on the map in the lower right corner of your screen) you will be able to choose what icons you want to see on your map by clicking on the small arrow at the top right corner of the map. There, you can easily choose what icons you want to have shown on or hidden from your map, which is perfect for when you, for example, want to check where to find the closest mailbox!
Among the new icons you’ll find:
★ Ferry Stations
★ Horse Trailers
★ Horse Stylists
★ Horse Trainers
★ Riding Club Grand Masters
We’ve also replaced the orange dots on the map that previously marked where you should look for items in quests. From now on you’ll instead see a large yellow circle, which will make the markings easier to spot no matter where the items are on the in-game map. What you’re looking for is always in the middle of the circle!
Horse Market The Horse Market is closed this week.
Have a lovely week in Jorvik!
Hugs from your Star Stable Team ♥
